THE WATER CHALLENGE

The World Health Organization (WHO) states that for basic survival, each human needs 3 litres per day of potable water, yet in many environments, safe drinking water is difficult and expensive to obtain.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) state that climate change will result in less water being available around the world and that by 2025, two-thirds of the world’s population may face water shortage. These statements highlight the importance of ensuring unpolluted water is accessible in even the most remote locations.

CREATING WATER FROM AIR

Hogen Systems has developed an Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) that extracts the water from the surrounding atmosphere to produce safe clean drinking water on site using a unique, patented technology.

Hogen Water Generation technology is suitable for
use in a diverse range of applications.

The amount of portable water produced is dependent on need and location; the technical team can tailor a customised solution to meet specific needs. Additionally, the standardised Hogen Water Generators are modular in design and offer a scalable solution to generate the required yield.

Examples of where atmospheric water generation can be effectively used include remote locations such as offshore oil and gas rigs, the desert, military deployments, disaster relief applications, and even super yachts. In fact, Hogen Generators can be supplied for use anywhere in the world that has a power source available.

Energy Efficient & Cost Effective
Typically, less than 0.3kWh will produce one litre of water resulting in a typical cost of less than $0.05 US per litre.

Environmentally Friendly
Water is created on site so the need to transport water and use single-use plastic is eliminated. No infrastructure or piping is required, only access to a power source, which can be renewable energy such as solar or wind.

Patented Technology
Hogen holds 5 patents for our unique and innovative technology. Hogen Water Generators have intelligent sensors that use live weather data to optimise performance.

Quality Drinking Water
Potable water produced from Hogen Water Generators meets the purity requirements of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Water UK™ and Water Quality Regulation UK 2016 guidelines.

INTELLIGENT WATER GENERATION

By using an intelligent control system Hogen’s Water Generators produce the highest amount of potable water using the least amount of energy.

Water is extracted from the surrounding atmosphere using an optimized combination of condensation and absorption technologies. The extraction process is dynamically optimized using an intelligent control system that senses the environment and puts the unit into the optimum operating mode to generate the maximum water output in the most efficient way.

The process can essentially be considered in three stages:

• Atmospheric induction
• Water extraction and separation
• UV purification, filtration and storage

The control systems sensors monitor the surrounding atmospheric conditions to determine if condensation and/or absorption into desiccant material is required for optimum efficiency.
